New Life Sunday Message: Unless You Are Born Again

sunday service

New Life Community Church held a graceful Sunday service with new faces on April 3.

The minister preached the message "unless you are born again" from John 3:1-11. The message is to explain the true meaning of rebirth. Nicodemus, a rich Pharisee and a member of the Jewish ruling council, came to see Jesus because of the miraculous signs. But Jesus taught him, "no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit." Born again means one must be changed from above, not only by water but also by the Spirit. John the Baptist gave water baptism but Jesus gave the Holy Spirit or fire baptism. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth. Jesus baptized and made His listeners born again when they listened to His Gospel. All members are exhorted to desire and seek the Word of God and experience the rebirth through the Word of God.

After the service, they held a time of breaking bread. Andre shared, "I received a lot of grace. I met the minister three weeks ago. I was seeking for a growing church so that I can listen to the Word of God and spread it to others. I would like to join Wednesday service too."

Member Jafre shared, "I know the true meaning of rebirth today. I come to the church to serve, give tithe, evangelize, and these things are good. I need to keep the law. Through this I can be clean outside, but it can't change my heart. I hope I can read the Word of God more so that my heart can be changed by the Holy Spirit. Sometimes I have anger problems, but if I read more of the Bible, I believe the Word of God will change me."

The minister shared, "when I evangelize, many people say I am ok and saved. But they stop going to church. Actually, we need to be baptized by water and the Spirit. Keeping the rituals means being washed by the water, which is also important. But that can't make sure we can be righteous in front of God. We can only be changed by the Holy Spirit; by the grace of God we can be changed. I hope we can prioritize the Word of God more than anything else in our life."

After the time of breaking bread, they shared their prayer topics and prayed for each other.

Please pray that the Holy Spirit can pour down great grace to New Life Church before Pentecost!
