New Life Community Church held a graceful Sunday service on June 19. Five people joined the service with one newcomer. Minister Cindy Chou delivered the message from Exodus 20:1-17.
"After God led the Israelites out of Egypt, He gave them Ten Commandments through Moses. It was inscribed on the two tablets of stone by the finger of God on mount Sinai. Jesus came to this world and brought us heavenly law. Law and gospel are speaking the same thing, but their level is different. Ten commandments teach us not to do something in a prohibitive way. But Jesus teaches us to love God and neighbors in a positive way. Through Jesus Christ, we can know the law on a deeper level. We can know what is truly obeying the law to live our life."
Chou explained the Ten Commandments one by one and exhorted everyone to hope to know ten commandments and keep them to live their life.
During a beautiful time of breaking bread session and a table fellowship, Pamela Meza served everyone with her homemade soup. Meza reflected, "It's a good point that the message mentioned Jesus taught us to love in a positive way rather than you shouldn't do something. Love can fulfill the law. If we have love, we can do it naturally."
Jafre Chase commented, "I don't want to misuse God's name. I hope I can glorify God's name. As I have some hatred inside of my hearts towards people who treat me badly, I hope I can meditate more God's love and let his love melt my heart to love others."
Cristal, a newcomer, shared her situation that she was looking for a job and she was treated badly by her first husband. Members prayed for her and suggested her to seek help.
Please pray that New Life Church members can keep commandments to live their life and be more prosperous!
